Class Experience

Beginner Level
During this weekly, ongoing class, students will learn to draw characters from the Nintendo game, Animal Crossing (New Horizons), using a step-by-step method. We will draw using a pencil first, and then, the students may use colored pencil, markers, pens, and/ or crayons to color their drawings.

The topic of the class is the Nintendo game Animal Crossing New Horizons. We will have weekly themes as highlighted below.

⇢ Week of (11/25): Elephants and a turkey

⇢ Week of (12/02): Ducks

⇢ Week of (12/09): Horses

⇢ Week of (12/16): Birds

More to follow. Please look out for updates!

During the class, we can socialize and talk about the game.

My goal for this class is to give the students a platform to practice and develop techniques to improve their artistic skills on a regular basis. This class will help them build their skills, as an artist, develop social skills in a class setting with students who share the same interest.

Each week, (as a group), we will take turns choosing which character to draw. We will complete as many characters as we can during the time that we have.

Knowledge of prior drawing classes will not be necessary since there will be new characters to draw every week. Students can join this class at any point without getting lost. This is a no pressure class. We are just drawing, socializing, and having fun!

Students will be shown Animal Crossing characters to choose from via the screen sharing feature on zoom. The website that I will use is https://www.nookipedia.com.

If a student is slow at drawing, it's okay! We all create at our own pace, but unfortunately, we only have the time that we have so the student may be encouraged to finish their piece after class. The classes are recorded so the students are able to watch the recording, go at their own pace (by pausing the video), and try to draw it again.

2 cameras will be used during class, one for an introduction from me and one to show my drawing process. I will also share my screen of the characters we will draw.

Students will have the option to share their drawing during class, if they want to.

Students may be muted if there is a lot of background noise. Please show them how to unmute themselves when they are ready to talk. Thanks!
