In this one-time drawing course, students will learn how to sketch a realistic portrait of a pigeon bird (full body), using pencil. Please note that if students want to use charcoal, they are welcome to use use this instead of pencil. What will students learn? 1. Students will learn techniques for sketching a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a pigeon flying. 2. Students will learn techniques for smooth blending, gradient blending, and adding contrast using pencil. 3. Students...
What will students learn? 1. Students will learn techniques for sketching a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a pigeon flying. 2. Students will learn techniques for smooth blending, gradient blending, and adding contrast using pencil. 3. Students will learn techniques for drawing realistic feathers and feather texture using pencil and an eraser. 4. Students will learn techniques for adding realistic shadows to white feathers using pencil and an eraser. 5. Students will learn a few facts about pigeons.
Because of how detailed these drawings are, there is a good chance students will need to finish sketches outside of the designated class time.
1 file available upon enrollment-Paper -Everyday pencil or drawing pencils -Everyday eraser and/or kneaded eraser -Blending tool (blending stumps, tissue, Q-tips, or you can just use your fingers if you don't have any of the previously listed supplies) OPTIONAL: -Charcoal
Students will be assessed throughout class and at the end of class through questions and/or sharing of drawings.
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
