Animal Art: Leopard Gecko Colored Pencil Drawing
Class experience
In this one-time drawing class, students will learn to draw a realistic, full body portrait of a leopard gecko lizard, using colored pencil. Students are welcome to come to class with fun facts to share about lizards if they want. I will also share a few fun facts about these animals throughout class while we draw. During class, I will demonstrate each step for students and have students complete that step along with me. My classroom is a calm, fun, and creative environment where...
1. Students will learn techniques to sketch a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a leopard gecko lizard (full body) using pencil. 2. Students will learn techniques for smooth blending, pencil application, gradient blending, and adding contrast using colored pencil. 3. Students will learn techniques for creating scaly texture using colored pencils. 4. Students will learn a few facts about geckos.

Because of how detailed this drawing is, there is a good chance students will need to finish their work outside of the designated class time.Assessments Offered
