Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
Beginner - Intermediate Level
This is an on-going art class for learners who like animals and art! Each week will feature a new animal. We'll learn animal facts and create a cute drawing, painting or craft, while interacting with each other! Projects will only require simple materials, such as paper, colored pencils, markers, water colors, scissors, glue and tape.

We'll start each class by learning and sharing a few facts about the weekly animal. Each learner will have the opportunity to speak and learners can interact with each other.

Next, we'll start our project! I will have two screens visible so that students can see me drawing/painting/creating, as well as speaking. This will allow learners to follow along with my live instructions. I break each step down, so artists of all levels are welcome! As I create, I will share facts about the animal. Why do polar bears have small ears? Do foxes hibernate in the winter?

Students can replicate my creation or add their own unique elements, with some ideas discussed as we create. After completing our drawing, students will begin coloring or painting in their drawing. Discussion and interaction will be encouraged as we color and paint in drawings! Throughout the class, students will have the opportunity to share their creations with the other club members, but it will not be required. I give consistent encouragement to build confidence in young artists.
