Do you love Giant Pandas and want to know more about them? How do they hold their food? Where do they live in the wild? How many times do they poop a day? This interactive and discussion-based class is all about the famous Giant Panda. Students will learn about Giant Pandas' features, habitat, diet, and adaptations that help it to survive in the wild. This class promotes independence and all students are supported and encouraged to participate with their own ideas and opinions. Hence students are not muted unless there is substantial background noise. The lesson will begin by encouraging students to share prior knowledge and facts they already know with the rest of the class. If they do not know this animal, they will be guided to focus on the animal's features and share what they see. I then share facts relating to the animal from its size and habitat, to its diet and behaviours. During this time, students are called upon to answer questions, share their experiences, and voice their opinions. This class is very vocal and students have numerous opportunities each to interact. During the last part of our class, students will be given step by step instructions to draw their own Giant Panda and complete a provided fact sheet template. Our lesson ends with a quick recap where students can share a fact they learnt about the animal from the lesson.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about Giant Pandas, their habitats, features and diet.

Hello, it's lovely to meet you! I'm Catherine, a qualified primary teacher and home educator from the UK.
I am incredibly passionate about encouraging the next generation to be proactive with conservation and protecting our planet. You'll see many of my classes are themed around my love for animals, endangered species, habitats, and conservation.
Young students care deeply about our world, are enthusiastic and keen to learn about sustaining our planet. My classes are aimed mostly at 4-6 or 5-7-year-olds for this very reason.
As a qualified primary school teacher and ESL teacher, outside of my animal-themed classes, I also offer a range of fun, activity-led classes focused on phonics, book clubs, early math, and ESL.
Outside of teaching, I love nothing more than spending time in nature with my family. I have two children, 6 and 4, whom I home educate with my husband. We spend as much time as possible visiting nature reserves, local wildlife parks, and hiking with our dog. My DSLR camera is always on hand to capture the incredible sights we see, from migrating birds in winter to summer-blooming flowers.
Nature and the world around us is a huge part of our life. With my classes, I help young learners with a passion for our incredible world, by answering their questions, providing cross-curricular activities, and extending their prior knowledge.
My live lessons are often discussion-based within a relaxed and friendly environment where everyone has the opportunity to participate. Flex classes offer learners an opportunity to study the content at a pace or time zone that suits them. Due to them being no live lessons, these classes are jam-packed full of cross-curricular activities for students to enjoy and share with their peers.
Interested in finding out more?! GREAT!
Come along and join one of my classes below. I cannot wait to meet you.
Catherine
