Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
In this one time fun and interactive class, students will learn all about five of the ten big cats in the world. This class will include the Rusty-Spotted Cat, Leopard cat, Margay, Sand cat, and Flat-headed cat. The students will get to explore each animal in-depth, including their habitat, what they eat, and more interesting facts about these amazing creatures. Just how small is the Rusty-Spotted Cat? Which of these wild cat hunts snakes, particularly venomous vipers? Find out these answers and many more in this fun engaging class.

In the class, students will get a more in-depth look at each of these incredible creatures. We will explore where they're from, what do they eat, and do they have any other unique adaptations that have helped them in the animal kingdom.

Since the class, is focus on letting kids explore their curiosity and love of animals, students will be encouraged to share their knowledge and to ask lots of questions to discover new revelations about the animal kingdom. I believe students learn best when having fun in a supportive environment that encourages them to express their thoughts and opinions.

At the start of each class, students will be encouraged to make a prediction about which animals they think will be on my list. The class will be done as a google slide presentation including fun facts, videos, and if possible, sound clips of the animals. In the end, we will talk about what the students have learned and which animals they liked the most or surprised them.

Students are welcome to bring their favorite stuffed animals, photos, or animal toys to share with the class. Snacks are welcome too.

Hello everyone!

My name is Ashley. My classes are fun, informative, and engaging, and I genuinely love helping students learn while having fun. My primary goal is to help students use their creativity and curiosity to discover what they truly want to learn about.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences (Honors) from the University of Wyoming with a focus on international studies. I have worked with children for almost 5 years as an SPEA for Higher Needs students at a local school district. Currently, I am an online ESL teacher and writer. My teaching style is to provide students with the opportunity to exchange ideas with their peers and take an active role in their learning. I love to encourage students to explore different topics through a variety of methods in a warm and encouraging environment. I encourage questions and speaking during my classes as I believe it is critical for students to do so.

Though I have a wide range of topics I teach, my genuine passion is writing! Writing has always brought me joy because it allows me to use my creativity to share stories with others. I believe that writing should be enjoyable, encouraging, and overall a positive experience. Though I have done writing in many fields, my favorite is writing fiction stories in the fantasy and science fiction genres.
