Description

Class Experience

My husband and I began fostering in 2014. As part of the process to become approved we had to participate in extensive training. After initial training, we participate in monthly training and certifications which include behavior management, de-escalation practices, and many more. In 2016, we adopted our two sons. Our youngest has sensory processing disorder and autism. We've participated in many different types of therapies and training so that we could best help our son meet his mental health, occupational therapy, and physical health needs. During this time, we learned many tips and exercises to help not only our son but many of our foster children. Since then, I have incorporated many of these exercises and other tools in my homeschool based classes and tutoring sessions. We can all use help calming down sometimes but my goal in this class is to help your young learners learn some techniques to add to their coping skill and self-soothing strategies.
