During this 1-on-1 course, learners will take part in an interactive lesson about recognising and responding to anger positively. We will define anger, its triggers and warning signs, and we will explore strategies and calming techniques to effectively cope with and manage it. By the end of the lesson students should be able to: - understand what anger is and what are its triggers - recognise the warning signs in their body - recognise that anger is a normal feelings like other feelings - identify and use calming and relaxing strategies to help them cope and manage their anger - practise some of the identified strategies This is an one-one-one class, offering the opportunity for the learner and the teacher to tailor the lesson and the discussions to the needs of the student. The course will cover the following topics: Day 1: - understand what anger is and what are its triggers - recognise the warning signs in their body - recognise that anger is a normal feelings like other feelings Day 2 and 3: - identify and use calming and relaxing strategies to help them cope and manage their anger in effective ways - practise some of the identified strategies - explore some breathing and distraction strategies and games - explore and practise techniques to calm down when angry This class is interactive and is based on discussions between the learner and the teacher. A powerpoint with slides including notes, pictures, question prompts and activities will be used during the lesson. The lesson is suitable for all the learners.
Learning Goals
Students will learn what anger is and how to recognise the warning signs in their body. They will also explore calming and relaxing strategies to help them cope and manage their anger.

Parental Guidance
The aim of this class is to offer educational activities to help students what anger is and what strategies they can use to manage their anger. This class is not a therapeutic group.
There is no intention of the class to elicit reports on personal experiences with mental health from learners. If a learner shares any personal mental health details (despite not being prompted to do so) , I will ask that the learner refrain from further discussion in front of the class and instead continue the conversation with a trusted adult.
If a learner shares something that is concerning, I may need to reach out to parents after class depending on the context.
