In this on-going course students will learn about the Greek and Roman gods from ancient Greece and Italy. We will discuss the stories and cultures these gods come from and the lessons they taught ancient societies and still teach us today.

Description

Class Experience

I am fascinated by the Greco-Roman world; its history, literature, culture, and languages. I have an M.A. in Classics and have taught Roman history, as well as other Classics related subjects, to a range of ages and skill levels online and in a traditional classroom.  This course is meant to be fun! It will incorporate a lot of literature but also a lot of material culture from the classical world. 
Weekly discussion questions will be provided to help learners practice their critical thinking and reading skills and help facilitate the in-class discussion.
All material will be provided in the classroom. 
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Progress reports and evaluations are available upon request. 
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
External Resources: No passwords or logins are required to use any external resources. 

Art: The Greeks and Romans artistically admired the human form, as result a lot of material culture from ancient Rome and Greece contains nudity. Images that contain what might be considered "lude behavior" will not be included.
