Students will learn about groups, and individual ancient mammals. The topics that will be covered will be spotlights of mammals from the Pelycosaurs of the Permian like Dimetrodon and Gorgonops, to the Triassic Cynodonts and Dicynodonts, the Jurassic metatherians, Cretaceous Marsupials and Placentals, Post dinosaur mammals all the way down to giant sloths, mammoths and sabre-tooth felines. My class will be structured along the mammal family tree. My teaching style can be described as interactive. Learners will get to interact with me and each other through lectures, documentary clips and images showcased. There is no prior experience or knowledge needed. The topics broken down below will rotate, after a set is done, the class will restart back from the beginning so that students who missed a topic will have a chance to see what they missed. Week 1-10/30/2020 : Mammoths & Elephants Week 2-11/06/2020: Sail-backed Pelycosaurs (Dimetrodon & Edaphosaurs) Week 3-11/13/2020: Sabre-toothed felines Week 4-11/20/2020: Dicynodonts Week 5-11/27/2020: Horses Week 6-12/4/2020: Gorgonopsids Week 7-12/11/2020: Camels Week 8-12/18/2020: Cynodonts Week 9-01/08/2021: Primates (not including Homonids) Week 10-01/15/2021: Caseid Pelycosaurs Week 11-01/22/2021: Big Cats Week 12-01/29/2021: Rhinos Week 13-02/05/2021: Whales Week 14-02/12/2021: Homonids Week 15-02/26/2021: Lystrosaurs Week 16-03/05/2021: Hyenadonts Week 17-03/12/2021: Pigs Week 18-03/19/2021: Bears, Dogs & Bear-Dogs Week 19-03/26/2021: False Rhinos and Horse-Rhinos Week 20-04/02/2021: Deer Week 21-04/09/2021: Australian Mammals After the Australian Mammals it then loops back to Mammoths and Elephants
