In this ongoing class, students will learn about prehistoric mammals from the early ancestors of the Permian to the more famous Mammoths of the Holocene.

Students will learn about groups, and individual ancient mammals. The topics that will be covered will be spotlights of mammals from the Pelycosaurs of the Permian like Dimetrodon and Gorgonops, to the Triassic Cynodonts and Dicynodonts, the Jurassic metatherians, Cretaceous Marsupials and Placentals, Post dinosaur mammals all the way down to giant sloths, mammoths and sabre-tooth felines. I am an educator in the Deep Time Hall at the Natural History Museum in D.C. I studied Paleontology at the University of Alberta and have been on several fossil digs.
