Description
Class Experience
The religion of ancient Egypt has inspired writers, theologians and mystics for thousands of years. Want to get the inside scoop? This class will give you the basics. Students will complete a 1-2 page research essay on a topic of their choosing. Week 1: "From the Land of Gold to the Great Green" We will examine Egyptian geography and look at how it influenced Egyptian thought and religion. Week 2: "The Great Ones" This week, we will meet many of the most important Egyptian deities. ...
Ms. Bender holds a MA in Egyptology from the University of Toronto and has experience teaching ESL, as well as tutoring a variety of topics. She knows how to make things fun while facilitating learning in her unique, personalized style.
Learners will complete several short response papers and one final research paper.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
One of the Egyptian creation myths references ejaculation. Students will see pictures of mummified human remains in the final week.
