Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 6
Beginner Level
During the week, learners will explore various aspects of Ancient Egypt in a fun and interactive way! I will use slides, interactive activities, games, virtual field trips, discussions, short videos, and other activities to immerse students in this era of ancient history. Some content will be teacher-led, while I will encourage learners to participate and share their ideas in a no-stress way. No prior knowledge is required. I think learning should be fun and have designed this class with that in mind.

I believe in inclusivity and want to ensure that all those who are enrolled have a safe and positive learning experience.

Several optional activities will be suggested for each day. I've included things for a broad range of learners with differing interests. Materials for the optional activities are things commonly found around the home.

Course Outline (generally):
Day 1: Introductions, Geography, and Daily Life of Ancient Egyptians
Day 2: Pharaohs and Gods
Day 3: Mummification & Hieroglyphics
Day 4: Pyramids, Sphinx, & Temples
Day 5: Egyptian Art, Tomb Explorations, & Kahoot

*Please understand that sometimes things need to be shifted around, to allow for discussion and participation of the learners.
A positive class culture is a must, so I prefer learners to take turns when participating and to treat each other respectfully.

*I also offer a 5 week version of this class that meets once a week.
