What's included
Homework
1-2 hours per week. Lots of optional activities will be suggested for learners each week.Class Experience
US Grade 4 - 6
Over this 5 week FLEX class, learners will explore various aspects of Ancient Egypt. Each week will focus on a different aspect of Ancient Egypt (see outline below) and no prior knowledge is required. I think learning should be fun and have designed this class with that in mind! On Monday of each week, I'll post the information and activities. Some weeks will be slideshows with interactive elements, and other weeks will be Nearpods (which allow for high levels of interaction), To allow for personalization and differentiation, a wide variety of optional activities will be included, and these include (but are not limited to): short videos, games, virtual field-trips, scavenger hunts, discussions, arts & crafts, and simulations. I've included things for a broad range of learners with differing interests and abilities. General Outline Week 1: Culture and Geography Week 2: Famous Pharaohs, Gods and Goddesses Week 3: Mummification, Canopic Jars, and Pyramids Week 4: Hieroglyphics and Art Week 5: Wrapping it all up Depending on the number of learners enrolled, and the interest in certain things, the outline may be adjusted slightly. Participants (and parents) are expected to communicate via messaging if any questions or concerns arise. A positive class culture is a must and respectful interaction will be maintained. I also offer this class in 2 "live" formats. As a M-F week-long class (that meets for 45 minutes each day), and as a 5 week long class (that meets once each week, for 45 min). The content and activities are similar, so please check out the feedback for those classes to help you decide if this class will be a good fit!
