Class Experience
This class features a live, interactive, weekly webinar, with additional virtual classroom activities and readings. It is perfect for homeschooled students or those looking for enrichment. Students will examine the legend that led to the founding of Tenochtitlan in the present day Mexico City. They will examine artifacts, the way of life of the Aztec peoples, their encounter with Europeans and what this meant for their civilization. Students will be able to: 1) identify the geographical region associated with the Aztec Empire. 2) identify important monuments and artifacts created by this civilization 3) identify a modern symbolic representation of the ancient legend that led the Aztecs to found their capital at Tenochtitlan 4) identify key European figures in the conquest of the Aztec empire
