I have a degree in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History, and as a 6-12 grade public school teacher for over a decade, I have taught several world history and ancient history courses to students in grades 6-12. The material in this 8-week course is based on content I developed for a comprehensive world history curriculum which is now used in public asynchronous virtual schools all over the United States. To make the content appropriate for younger learners, and to develop it for a specific course, I allowed the learners eight weeks to enjoy the content. I also created more interactive, hands-on experiences to allow younger learners to fully explore ancient Chinese art and culture.
After class, students will have short assignments to help them process the material they have learned. During the 7th class, students will share their work from class 1-6 and prepare for a Learner's Thesis, a more formal assignment to present on the last day of class.
