US Grade 5 - 8
In this fun, academic class students will spend two days learning about anatomy. Students will observe a model skeleton as well as look at still images, while studying the names and types of structures we're observing. Each student will create a scientific illustration of part of the skeleton to help in the learning process. Class 1 - - Discuss the basic aspects of anatomy - learn about scientific illustrations, how they were used, and why they are important - begin observing skeleton and creating sketches for our illustration Class 2 - - continue learning anatomy terms - finish our scientific illustrations Artistic suggestions or help will be offered while we're working on the illustrations.
Learning Goals
Students will work on learning specific names for parts of the skeleton. Students will learn to identify these through observation and demonstrate their knowledge by creating their own scientific diagrams.
