This course provides individualized tutoring from a Biological Scientist, Senior Research Project Specialist and Nurse. I have over 20 years experience in training and teaching Life Sciences, Biology, AP Biology, Dual Enrolled and CLEP level Biology to gifted elementary students with learning challenges, middle school students, high school students who are struggling and advanced, post high school Nursing students, Undergraduate students, Biomedical Sciences Graduate students as well as PhD's wanting to specialize in certain areas of Biology and Comparative Medicine research. This class can be tailored to meet each student's unique needs, especially those facing challenges with certain topics or wanting/needing to take things deeper with more hands-on learning. Upon enrollment, please share the following information to make the session efficient for your learner: Age Grade level Subjects Topics of interest Desired goal of tutoring The course integrates project-based, hands-on learning as requested and details of subject is shared at least 48 hours in advance. This enables students to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts. Game-based reviews are also available for making learning interactive and engaging (if details of subject review shared at least 48 hours in advance). As a Biological Scientist and Healthcare professional for 15+ years working in Cancer Research, I am knowledgeable and can cover all levels of any topics within Medical and Healthcare, Anatomy and Physiology, Life Sciences, Introductory and Advanced Biology, and AP/college level students. As a SPED Educator, I am also very experienced working with Gifted and 2E (twice-exceptional) learners. Some specific topics we can cover in Biology and Anatomy: Diversity: Such as natural selection, speciation, phylogenetics Cellular Structure and Function: Such as cell organelles, cellular respiration, photosynthesis Genetics and Heredity: Such as Mendelian genetics, DNA structure and replication, genetic engineering (mouse modeling) Ecology and Environment: Such as population ecology, ecosystems, human impact on the environment Biological Systems and Organisms: Such as homeostasis, immune system, reproductive system Molecular Biology and Biochemistry: Such as protein synthesis, enzyme function, metabolic pathways Plant Biology: Such as plant structure and function, plant reproduction, photosynthesis Animal Behavior and Nervous Systems: Such as ethology, neurobiology, sensory systems Human Anatomy and Physiology: Such as muscular system, cardiovascular system, digestive system Biotechnology and Laboratory Procedures: Such as gel electrophoresis, polymerase chain reaction, DNA sequencing, CRISPR gene editing Comparative Medicine: Such as genetically modified mouse models and establishing mutant colonies Please feel free to request specific class topics and other scheduling if you do not see a time fitting your needs.
