Class Experience

Students will learn to identify, define, and give examples of twelve different literary archetypes.
I am a certified teacher. I spent seven years teaching in a public school setting. I'm a homeschool parent with sixteen years' experience and also taught literature & mythology classes at a local homeschool co-op. I am a workshop presenter with Professional Home Educator, and I've presented workshops about both literature and mythology.
There is no mandatory homework; however, students will be encouraged to find the different archetypes in works of literature they read or in movies or television shows they watch.
(Optional) Pen/pencil & notebook for taking notes
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learner progress is assessed informally through class discussions.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
1. Books by: Neil Gaiman, Carl Jung, Joseph Campbell
2. Various works of literature, mythology, fairy tales, and folk tales
