Class experience
In this weekly course, learners will develop critical thinking skills and analytic techniques as we analyze the Outer Banks series and the National Treasure Edge of History series. We will see how the TV shows are made by looking at the camera angles, editing styles, scripts, and more. The class will be taught through presentations, discussions, and Kahoots! Students will need access to Disney Plus and Netflix. Students must come to class prepared to discuss that week's season by watching...
I have been teaching film studies classes for the last three years and love watching and analyzing films myself. Currently, I am finishing up a Master's degree in Strategic Communication. As my capstone project, I analyzed Outer Banks' season 3 marketing strategy and how it gets fans to watch the show. I love TV and movies and looking into the more profound analysis of the story and structure.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Outer Banks and National Treausre Edge of History are treasure-hunting TV shows that include scenes of violence, romance, peril, sexual material, action, and some language. Outer Banks is on Netflix and is rated TV-MA. National Treasure Edge of History is on Disney Plus and is rated TV-14.
