Class experience
This class is for our youngest chefs! It serves as a nice introduction to world cuisines and cooking skills. We will then look at a presentation about Spain and Spanish foods, including their history and how they got to Spain (and us). The students will then be instructed in the preparation of their own small tapas, which...
I love Spain! I have been there three times and am always looking for ways to go back. The people are amazingly friendly. The food is exquisite. There is nothing that beats sitting at the shores of the "wine dark sea" as Homer so poetically put it, and eating your way through their culinary history.
Students will need: 2 baguettes (or similar) 3 - 4 tomatoes (for this recipe - fresh is best) garlic cloves (1 - 3, depending on taste preferences) Extra Virgin Olive Oil Ham (Jamon Iberico, Virginia Ham, or other ham of preference) ***(optional)*** Cheese Shavings: (Mahón (available at Whole Foods Market) or Manchego (often available at Costco) Alternative Cheeses (if Spanish cheeses are unavailable) Parmesan, Parmigiano Reggiano, Salt Blender Baking Trays
