Class Experience

Do you want to become a developer? I introduce the basic concepts that will stay with you throughout school and your career. I make it easy by introducing fun concepts that will help you start coding immediately. We will start programs in class and homework will be given either to complete small pieces of code or to alter pieces of code. Progress is evaluated by providing simple quizzes that test the concepts as well as evaluating code and assessing the correctness of the code.  All code is...

I am offering this class because I have been tutoring computer programming for years and I have seen students struggle with grasping of the concepts. I have noticed that the concepts are made too difficult or general so I have learned to make concepts more personal to the individual.

I will offer simple notes (in the form of comments) that describe concepts in-depth and also provide workable examples. We will start small and grow with a project-based learning system. Students should take notes.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Eclipse
Java

2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
