Class Experience

This class is a fun and great way to learn about engineers and the engineering design process. There are a multitude of skills that will be focused on including problem solving, flexible thinking, creativity, discovery, and collaboration. These skills transfer to building success in many other areas including math, science, and writing. 

Class Overview: 
-Brainstorm what it means to be an engineer
-Learn about the Engineering Design Process
-Discuss ideas for keeping your (hard boiled) egg from cracking when dropped
-Plan multiple porotypes on paper and choose a design to create
-Build a model of choice
- Share and test dropping the egg
-Discussion 

During building time I will work one-on-one with each leaner to help them problem solve and brainstorm ideas for their designs.

Parental Guidance
I recommend that an adult boils a hard boiled egg prior to class so that clean up is easier. Thank you.
Supply List
Plain paper and pencil
1 Hard boiled egg (or 2) 
Gather a variety of materials to choose from during class. Building Materials - Here are some ideas: recyclables, carboard, paper, rubber bands, paper towel tubes, pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, clay, play dough, building blocks, tape, glue...
