🔺 A valuable jewel is missing from Queen Hatshepsut’s royal tomb. The pharaoh has asked you, a detective, to investigate. You get to work to search for clues. Along the way, you meet people who will offer their help. Keep in mind that only some of them will lead you to the truth. 🔺

Students will immerse themselves in Ancient Egyptian history. They will discover the key elements of a remarkable civilization which include agriculture, bartering, measurement, writing and numeral systems, and rituals and beliefs. The rich symbolism found in Ancient Egyptian culture will play an important role in solving the crime.

Students will rely on texts, symbols, rhyming riddles and code deciphering to discover important clues. Each participant will submit their answers and draw their own conclusion about the guilt of the suspects. The group will be split into breakout rooms so students can collaborate if necessary while the teacher monitors and guides them. The class uses interactive Google Slides. Students will submit their answers in a Google Form.

This exciting course is available to students with different abilities.

🤚 No prior knowledge about Ancient Egypt is needed. The mystery will be thrilling for those who have previously studied this ancient civilization and for newcomers alike. For one of the math problems, it would be helpful if the student understands the concept of area and perimeter.

- I am a certified Waldorf teacher for grades 1 through 8 with years of experience in a variety of settings. Waldorf Teacher Training prepares teachers to determine which aspects of history and mythological stories are appropriate for children at each developmental stage.

-In Waldorf Education, the study of ancient civilizations is an integral part of the primary grades’ curriculum. This includes but is not limited to Ancient India, Persia, Babylonia, Greece and Egypt. Children learn about each civilization through its geography, mythology, music, art and traditional ways of life. As a multicultural teacher who has travelled extensively, I thoroughly enjoyed teaching ancient civilizations.

-I look forward to taking my students on a journey to Egypt in this interdisciplinary escape room.
