They end up staying at the Metropolitan Museum of Art where many adventures ensue. While we will refer to the book periodically in class, it should be read or listened to outside of class. Ever since I was a sixth-grade student spending the night at the Franklin Institute Science Museum, I have dreamed of being like Claudia in "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler". This has been one of my favorite novels since childhood and I loved sharing it with my own daughter. As a Reading teacher and homeschooling momma, I would love to share my lessons with your children as well!
Teacher will provide a guide with comprehension questions and vocabulary, museum map print outs and writing prompt. Students will need a copy of the novel, common art supplies like: mixed media paper, colored pencils, watercolor paints, paintbrushes and quick drying clay.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
