If you love octopi, this is the class for you! Learners will begin class with a quick ice breaker to help them get to know each other! They can bring an octopus toy to class so that they can share what they like about the octopus. We will read a story about an octopus who has a problem called, "Inky's Amazing Escape: How a Very Smart Octopus Found His Way Home" by Sy Montgomery. Learners will be encouraged to share connections, ask questions, and make predictions about the story. After the...
Learners will be able to practice their speaking skills by sharing about why they like octopi. Learners will improve their reading comprehension and vocabulary by listening to a fun story. Learners will be able to use their creativity and fine motor skills to draw a shark. Learners will practice their writing skills by writing in complete sentences. Learners will use their imaginations to think of a story about an octopus.
No homework is required
2 files available upon enrollmentLearners will need paper and art supplies, such as pencils, colored pencils, crayons, or markers. Learners may chose to bring an octopus picture or toy to class to share at the beginning. Learners may print out a writing plan to assist in their writing.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
