In this English discussion class, students will be welcomed to the class and get to know a fun fact about each other. We will begin a discussion relating to what can be found in towns and cities and play a memory game. Teacher Becky will present the text about Amy’s town and read it to the students. The students will then take it in turns to read sections of the text if they feel comfortable to do this. The students will then ask and answer the questions about the text, as they take control of the discussion, asking each other the same questions about their own town/city etc. Student will then share their drawing of their town and explain what can be seen. Pupils will again have opportunities to ask each other questions about the pictures they have drawn. We will then finish with a song called “My Town”. If there is time at the end of the lesson will will play another game called “Would you rather”.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello. My name is Becky. I am an educator from the Shrewsbury UK, where I live with my husband and my big fluff cat Monty. I am passionate about teaching children and have worked in Education for over 10 years. While working in primary schools, I was responsible for organising Nurture Groups for children who need social and emotional support. I then went on to teach English to native and non~native children in the class and online. I have qualifications in Teaching and Support children in primary schools as well as being a qualified TESOL Teacher from Trinity College London. I am currently studying for a degree in Language Studies focusing in English and German.
In my classroom I like to combine my specialised and experience subjects areas. This being English comprehension, discussion and conversational classes with a strong social element. My goal is to encourage the children to share their own ideas about fun, relatable topics and to allow them to talk and listen to other students to gain confidence in social situations while learning about different areas of English in a fun environment. Topics will cover discussion on environmental issues, animals, stories, towns and cities and many more and will be design to allow the students to speak and share ideas and opinions .
It’s really an incredible honour to design lessons which give the students freedom to think independently and learn from the other students thoughts and ideas. As a teacher, I am passionate about encouraging and praising students. Every child learns differently and I am able to adapt lessons and material to suit each individual. Ultimately, my intention is to create educational fun and warm environment where students can feel confident to find there voice while focusing the English subject.
I have spent many years travelling and working in many different countries and have learnt so much a long the way. I can’t wait to share my experiences and to get to know all my students .a
