In this on-going class, students will be able to play the popular game Among Us with the same students every week to build lasting friendships and have fun!

Learners are required to have the game Among Us downloaded on a compatible device. Students are NOT required to sign in and do NOT need to share their username. They will be given a code at the beginning of class and will be able to join the game with the code. Among Us is a game that follows a group of crewmates on a spaceship, and amongst them is an impostor (or two/three) whose goal is to sabotage the ship and the crew. At the start of the class, your student will be given a code to join a private game. Since this game allows in-game chat, the private server will ensure a safe environment for your child and will guarantee that they will not be interacting with strangers outside of my control. Your student, and a class of peers their own age, will get to work together to problem solve, communicate with each other, and learn how to make decisions by voting. Among Us is a mobile, PC, and Nintendo Switch game. The game is required for this class - the mobile version is free in the app store. NOTE: This game only works with a minimum of 3-4 players. If there are not at least 3 students signed up one hour before the class starts, I will message parents and offer a refund or a reschedule. (If your class starts at 6pm, and at 5pm only 2 students are signed up, I will cancel class and message the parent).

Parental Guidance
The game consists of "impostors" and "crewmates". The impostors goal is to sabotage the ship and kill all the crewmates. The crewmates' goal is to complete their list of tasks and vote out the impostor(s) before they have killed everyone. The game is rated "ESRB EVERYONE 10+ for Fantasy violence, Mild blood". Video clips of the game are available on YouTube if you would like to see the game before allowing your child to play.

Supply List
An internet-connected device (PC, iPhone/Android cell phone, tablet, Nintendo Switch, etc.) with the game Among Us on it is necessary to join class. An account should be created and an internet connection established so online play is possible! Students will not need to provide any information to join an online game, and will join with a code given at the start of class. I will guide students on where to enter the code if needed.
