Among is the game of determining: Who is the impostor? Who looks sus to you? But in THIS version, we are changing up the traditional rules a bit. Instead of finding the impostors, this time the impostors will have to find us! This Among Us class is not recommended for new players, but if you've played in all of the maps or least one of my classes you are likely ready for this class. Typically, I let the students vote on the map that we will use for the game. If there is a split vote, I will make a final call. The rules for hide and seek can be different depending on who you are playing with. Here are the rules and settings that I intending to use in class: Settings: # Imposters: 1 Emergency meeting: 0 Player Speed: 1.5x - 3x Crewmate Visions: 2x - 5x Imposter Vision: 0.25x Kill Cooldown: 15 seconds Kill Distance: Medium Tasks: 6 in total Rules Start the game with the Imposter revealing themselves. Crewmates get a 15-second head start to run away and hide while the Imposter waits in the meeting room. After the headstart, the Imposter begins hunting down the crew. Crewmates have to finish their tasks while avoiding the Imposter and they can't report kills. We will first meet in the Outschool classroom where I will help students to get onto our own private Among Us game. Students should have two devices so that we can continue to chat in the Zoom class while playing on another device. One of those devices must already have the app "Among Us" downloaded to it. Please note that the game will determine who acts as the impostor. I am unable to control this aspect of the game. That means that I am unable to guarantee that each student will get a turn as the impostor. Additionally, please be aware that during the game, there is a discussion time. At this time, students will share information that they have noticed during play that will help narrow down who did it. This class will be a great way for students to develop community with other students that enjoy playing Among Us. Please note the following: This class requires a minimum of 4 students per class. If the minimum is not reached, this class will be cancelled. Refunds will NOT be given for students who do not have game downloaded and updated. Please have your student on a device with the latest version of the app.

Parental Guidance
The game should be downloaded BEFORE your child comes to this class.
It is recommended that you do not try to use Zoom and Among Us on a computer as a split screen. Students often get kicked out of the game when they are transitioning back and forth, which can be very frustrating.
Please be aware. If your child is not playing the paid version of the game, there are ads. Some ads could be inappropriate for children.
This game can be difficult for children that are not prepared to lose. Please have a conversation with your child before joining this class so that they are aware that they cannot be a sore loser or winner in this class.
Supply List
Please have a device to play on while also continuing to converse in our Outschool Zoom classroom. Please be sure that your child has downloaded the app before class. I have listed 4 options to help you acquire the game, I will be using the app that I have downloaded from the itunes app store. If you choose to download if from STEAM, there is a charge. The other sites will allow you to download it for free, but with ads. You can pay a minimal to have an ad-free version. There is now an option to play on the Nintendo Switch. You can download Among Us in the Nintendo e-store.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Westminster College
Hi! My name is Lauren, but my students call me "Best Teach". I graduated from Westminster College in 2004 with a degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, I earned my Pennsylvania English as a Second Language Program Specialist K-12 certification. I moved to Shenandoah, Virginia to teach English as a Second Language in 2006. I taught over 40 students (K-12) at 4 different schools. In 2007, I moved to the traditional first grade classroom.
Since then, I have taught in many different capacities. I have taught baby sign language to parents, online for two years as an English as a Second Language teacher, and as a homeschool tutor. My most valuable teaching experience has come as a homeschool mom. I have been teaching my neurodivergent 15 year old son and neurotypical 12 year old daughter since the day they were born.
I bring a variety of classes to Outschool, because I like to pull from all of my interests and talents.
