NOTE: This club is in response to learner requests for a girls club in light of how there tend to be fewer girls in gamer groups. Although suggested for girls who may want to socialize and play together, it is open to all learners. Let's get together and play the very popular online game Among Us with other girls each week! Among us is a very interactive and fun game that involves a group of crewmates on a spaceship. But there is an imposter! Or two! Or three! Join me as we work together to complete tasks and to try to find the imposter or imposters among us! Players may want to mute their microphones while we are working on the ship so as to not to give away their status. When a meeting is called, students will discuss their thoughts on who the imposter is and why. Players will have to use their deductive reasoning and communication skills to work as a team. Good sportsmanship is always fostered. Each week learners will have a chance to socialize while gaming. Conversation topics will be learner-generated. The game also has a chat feature; students will be safe because I will be hosting a private game session. We will play as many rounds as time allows! Students can have input into game settings. We may even play new game variations like Hide and Seek if the group would like to. Students should ideally have 2 devices for the class. For example, they can take the class on Zoom on a PC or tablet, and they can play on a tablet, phone, gaming system or another PC. The exact configuration is your choice. The mobile APP is free. The game should be downloaded before class time so that they are ready to play when they enter class. *** I will always play in the game. We will need at least 3 students in the class in order to activate the game. If we do not get enough players enrolled in the class, I will happily transfer or refund students. ***** Please let me know if you would like me to schedule the class at a time that you do not see listed. Parents should research the game be aware of the theme. The game depicts cartoon violence and killing.
The game involves deception and being incognito. Learners should be ok with possibly being wrongly accused of being the imposter. It is all in the fun spirit of the game.
Supply List
- Outschool class on a device - Among Us app downloaded, or Steam website version on a device (Phone, Tablet, Nintendo Switch, xBox, Playstation, PC) This will preferably be 2 separate devices for ease of play for the student and a better connection.

Hello, and welcome! I am super excited to offer classes and clubs for a variety of topics!
I love being a teacher! I am patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about making learning fun for every student. All of my classes are inclusive for all children, and are ESL, neurodivergent and autism friendly. I have experience teaching children in all of these groups and of varying ages, learning styles, academic abilities, and English proficiency levels. I look forward to meeting your child in the classroom for an exciting learning adventure!
I have an M.S. in Psychiatric Rehabilitation from the University of Medicine and Dentistry, NJ. I also hold a B.A. in both Psychology and Sociology, with a Criminology Certificate, all from Rutgers University. In addition, I earned a TESOL Certificate.
My teaching specialties include preschool skills, elementary education, ESL- English as a Second Language, life skills, and coping skills. Some of my other interests are video games, board games, travel, Disney, crafts, cooking, and baking.
My employment has always included teaching or counseling. I have taught in a daycare center, a children's developmental center, schools, and a psychiatric day program. I also have 5 years of experience teaching children English online. Educating all of these students has been very rewarding, and I am thrilled to be offering classes on Outschool.
**** To ensure learner privacy, safety, and comfort, which are of the utmost importance, class recordings of social clubs/classes will not be shared.
****TRANSFER POLICY: I am flexible regarding transfers to another section of the same class (if available), but all transfers must be requested at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled class in order to allow another student the opportunity to enroll in your child's spot. Transfers cannot be granted for missed classes, or for requests made within 24 hours of the scheduled class. Transfers are only available for the same exact class, within the same Outschool week, which ends on Sunday.
