Homework
2-4 hours per week. It is not required, but after some lessons I will encourage students to practice throughout the week. This may either be practicing basic stitches, or working on parts of their project on their own time. Please note that practicing throughout the week will speed up the process of learning to crochet.Class Experience
Beginner - Advanced Level
This class is perfect for anyone who want's to learn how to crochet and make their own Amigurumi plushies. Because it is a one on one setting, it tailors to the student's skill level. This is great if they do not know how to crochet at all and need help getting started, or if they already know how to crochet, but don't know how to make an amigurumi. Also, their will be no other students in the class, making it the perfect setting to learn without any distractions. During each week, I will switch to a webcam recording over my hands so they can get a better understanding of the directions given. If your student is at a BEGINNER level, I will be teaching the basics of crochet such as the holding your yarn and crochet hook, Chain stitch, Single Crochet stitch, Double Crochet stitch, etc., and then move on to making the main Amigurumi elephant project (the one shown in the thumbnail) once they are comfortable with the basics taught. If they are INTERMEDIATE or ADVANCED level, I will go straight into making the Amigurumi elephant project (the one shown in the thumbnail). We will be learning how to crochet in the round using a Magic Ring, how to increase, how to decrease, sewing techniques so they can sew their amigurumi together, and gluing felt features to make it their own! After the Amigurumi elephant project is complete, we will continue to work on more projects afterward tailored to what the student wants to make. Whether they're a fan of dragons, dinosaurs, giraffes, axolotls or even Pokemon, I've got a pattern for them! PARENTS, please let me know the level your child is starting at before the lessons start so I can tailor the class to fit their needs. **Note to the parents: Crocheting can is a craft that requires a lot of hand and finger dexterity as well as a long attention span. I know each child works at a different pace, has a different attention span and their own level of dexterity. Because I don't know your child, their attention span, the pace they work at, or their dexterity level, it is up to you as the parent to decide by looking at the thumbnail and the description if you feel this class is too difficult for them. If needed, you are more than welcome to assist your child off camera should a step be to difficult and/or they need help. I recommend this if you are signing up a student younger than the listed age level.**
