Pre-teens in China want to speak American English--including slang! Drop into this weekly class to learn the words Chinese schools don't teach from an American parent and teacher of middle schoolers, teens, and pre-teens! Weekly slang word choices will be chosen based on what American children are talking about that week. Examples of words students will learn to use include: -Rizz -Sigma -Lit -Skibidi
Learning Goals
By the end of the lesson, learners will have learned a new American English slang word, recognize when they hear it, and know the appropriate way to use it.

Hi, I'm Charlotte! I have been a licensed North Carolina educator since 2015. While my original license area was high school science (all science subjects, grades 9-12), I also hold licenses in the areas of English Instruction for English Language Learners (K-12), Exceptional Children (K-12), General Education, all subjects (K-6), and School Administration (all ages). I hold the Masters of Science in Education (from Johns Hopkins University), the Masters of School Administration, and the Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree. I am currently working on my doctoral dissertation in educational research/applied math and statistical analysis. I have won many awards and am well-respected in my field and among my peers. I won the New Teacher of the Year Award (2017) for the National Science Teacher Association (the second largest association of educators in the world!). I have been brought in to consult by the State of North Carolina on science standards and am an item writer for End of Course tests. I love helping children of all ages learn English.
