Class Experience

Welcome to Sign Language! This 5 week course will cover basic signs such as: the alphabet, numbers, a brief history of ASL, food, animals, nature, work and careers, and emotions.
The class will be an involved lecture that allows the students to participate during it. Questions will be asked during the review.
During each class, we will review material from the previous week. Then we will go over the new topic and review before the class is done.
During the week, there will be finger spelling words that students can practice along with other types of signs to work on memorizing.
No previous experience is needed.

Learning Goals
After students complete my class, they will have a deeper understanding about the deaf, their culture, and signs themselves. They will specifically learn how to make sentences, learn about how ASL began, and will work with me on becoming good interpreters through the signs they learn.
