Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! My name is Sarah Buhler and I will be teaching basic American Sign Language signs. I teach a Signing Fun class to young learners ages 4-9. We learn through online games, videos, ASL stories and Practice! I teach an American Sign Language 1:1 Beginners class for students of all ages. This is a class that is geared towards giving students the opportunity to learn and practice American Sign Language in a 1:1 setting: individualized to the learner. The classes I teach are structured with building onto signing vocabulary and focusing on signing themes. Signing about Colors , Signing about Animals, Seasonal Signs are a few examples of class content. I have been studying ASL for 10 years. I received my Bachelors in Science at Towson University and completed a 4 year Interpreter Training Program at Rowan College. I have 3 years of experience Interpreting in a school setting and ran a signing Activity for a year at a learning center for Children 2-6 years old. A little bit behind my teaching with this age group of learners is an emphasis on learning ASL at a young age and learning through play and reading! Something about myself is that I am a mom of 3 kids and a dog.I love to draw and paint.
