Beginner Level
During this ongoing course, we will be focusing on signs and how to create sentences and stories using these signs. While having prior knowledge of American Sign Language is very useful, it is by no means required. This class is design for non-readers How the class will go: 5 minutes: Introductions and Learners joining 5 minutes: Review the alphabet and learn the new signs for the day (20-30 signs) 15 minutes: Using the signs to create sentences and stories 5 minutes:Playing Games using American Sign Language If you are just now enrolling in the course, the alphabet will be sent to the learner on the day that they enroll, so they are knowledgeable about that aspect. Week of February 25th - Things around the house. Week of March 3rd - ABC's and Number - Learning simple introductions Week of March 10th - St. Patrick's signing Fun Week of March 17th - All about Spring Week of March 24th - Easter time fun Week of March 31st - Let's go Outside and play Week of April 7th - Opposities - we will be on Vacation from 4/6 - 4/9 Week of April 14th - Emotion and Feeling words Week of April 21st - All the ways to go Place including Transportation Week of April 28th - Let's go to the ZOO Week of May 5th - All about MOM! Week of May 12th - All about the Weather Other Themes: Theme - ABC’s and Numbers Theme - Opposites Theme - Colors and Animals Theme - All about the Weather Theme - Indoor and Outdoor Play Sign Theme - Answer and Manner Theme - Animals and Colors Theme - Community Workers (we learn about different community helpers) Theme - Emotion and Feeling words Theme - Clothes and Weather words Theme - Animals Theme - Family Theme - All the ways to go Place (Transportation) Theme - Toys and things around the house Theme - Let's go to the ZOO Theme - All about Food Theme - All about my Feeling Theme - Let's go to the Farm Theme - Every Day words - Words that can be used in the class Theme - Manner and Question word Theme - Action Words Theme - Places Words Theme - Nouns - Things Words Theme - Core Nouns Theme - Action Words Theme - Animals Words Theme - Sports Words Others Theme we will add doing the year is as followed Fall Halloween Thanksgiving Christmas Spring Summer Winter Any other Holidays during the year These will repeat, and we will cover the basis of ASL throughout these classes. Learners will be able to stop and start subscription at any time throughout the class. There is no prior knowledge required. Looking forward to seeing your learner in class!

I have been teaching American Sign Language for over 15 years. I worked in the Deaf community for 10 years. I teach a music and movement program in my local area and teach American Sign at different Preschools and private kindergarten in my local area. We use signs to communicate as my daughter who is Hard of Hearing and also an Outschool teacher . My teaching style is make learning fun and keep learning going.
