Students will be taught by a certified American Sign Language teacher, as well as, national certified teacher for Deaf children and is fluent in ASL. Students will learn the benefits of signing, basic tips for fingerspelling, the alphabet, numbers 1 - 10, spelling names, and fingerspelling practice. Students will learn facial expressions, basic grammar, vocabulary, deaf culture information which is relative to the Deaf community. I will provide informational documents, and direct instruction on how to complete all of the above. As well as, provide a link for continued practice which can be accessed at any time. Prior knowledge ASL is required, just come ready to learn and have fun! Extension activities are provided for students which would consist of practicing the alphabet, conversations, and information we have learned in class. The learner progress will be evaluated through direct observation. Please ensure you have a camera for this class. We will also have short weekly check-ups which will be graded to judge progress and to cater the class to work on everyones needs as a whole. I am offering this class to assist hearing students to continue learning the basics in American Sign Language 2. Not only will this bridge the gap between Deaf people and hearing people but it is also proven to increase IQ, as well as, many other benefits which we will go over. I have extensive experience in teaching American Sign Language as a world language for all age ranges.
