Description
Class Experience
Students will learn the American Sign Language alphabet. Students will learn to sign their name. Students will learn numbers 1-100. Students will learn about deaf culture. Students will learn basic words and sayings. Students will learn basic conversation.
I studied American Sign Language throughout high school and college. I have always loved and been fascinated by ASL. My brother's first language was ASL, which was probably where my love and fascination stems from. I am certified in ASL levels 1, 2, and 3.
May be asked to compile a list of words, phrases, topics, etc. that they are interested in learning.
A one-page handout of the ASL manual alphabet. Possible other handouts.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
