The students will learn all about the Old West version of fast mail delivery—the Pony Express. The class will cover its origin through necessity; the details of the operation, including the route, riders, horses, and customers; and its eventually demise due to the completion of the first transcontinental telegraph. The teaching style of this class includes slides, discussions, and activities. The students will be actively involved and will use critical thinking. No required experience or knowledge is necessary for this class, but it is very helpful for the students to be fluent in English.
