Welcome to the American Girl TEEN Friendship Club! Are you looking to find other AG fans out there and make some friends that are also teenagers? Well, you're in the right place! We are here to make friends will all of the girls that LOVE American Girl on Outschool! Want to talk about how cool it is that Felicity loves horses? How about discussing how cute Maryellen's poodle skirts are? What about what Grace's summer in Paris must have been like? Let's talk ALL things American Girl. This class is for teenagers that are HUGE American Girl fans, but not necessarily for kids that play with dolls - more of the collector and fandom crowd. ***This club is specifically reserved for TEENS - kids aged 13-18*** Parents have been asking me for this class for quite some time. Many American Girl fans are looking to get together and chat with fellow fans. We will focus on uplifting and empowering each other with positive talk and compliments. We will meet every Friday to chat about our favorite American Girl things and to make friends. I'll host "table-talker" style - just like at the American Girl cafe! This is a teacher lead group to ensure that all girls have a voice and can be heard. I will host questions and each girl will have a chance to answer and discuss. There will always be extra time to discuss further AG topics at the end. Girls can also engage in conversation with each other to make friends. We are also known to give each other ideas on crafts, recipes, baking ideas, and so on. Come back each week that you can to talk new things American Girl and to meet up with your friends! You can even bring your dolls if you like. This is an ongoing club and learners can join/leave each week at any time. Here's our discussion topics and schedule: **This school year, we will be focusing on different topics each month. See schedule below** September: Favorite Things October: Crafts & Activities November: Doll Holidays December: Character Creativity We cannot wait to see you and make friends!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Wisconsin Teaching Certificate in Social Studies/History
Hi there! My name is Mrs. Rodenbeck and I am a middle school history teacher! I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th, grade history for the past 5 years! Before that, I taught high school history. I absolutely LOVE learning about people from the past! I like understanding how people lived in different times in history.
I studied anthropology in college. My goal as a kid was to be Indiana Jones! Archaeology and cultural anthropology are my favorite disciplines. I like to learn about what past peoples have built and how those things impact their culture. I’ve even done work for Chicago’s Field Museum since 2007. Now I work in the education department at the Field Museum with other teachers and bringing history topics into their classrooms.
I love teaching about the American Girl books and their periods of time in history because I used to WORK at the American Girl store in Chicago. I worked there all throughout my college years. I loved American Girl when I was a kid and I loved it, even more, when I worked at the store in college!
I hope that from my courses, you can take some of my passion for history and for American Girl and get a little more excited about learning about other people. There are so many fun and exciting things to learn about! I can’t wait to share them with you!
