Each week our trip starts with introducing or sharing our dolls to the group. This is a great opportunity to practice sharing, taking turns, and listening to others. Learners will improve their map reading skills, knowledge of geography, and understanding of cultures and languages from around the world. It is my hope that learners also have fun sharing, learn how to take turns, and think about where they'd like to travel one day.
I am a STEM educator who believes that learning can come from all different sources. I enjoy traveling and have a degree in Anthropology. There is so much to learn from cultures around the world. I grew up with American Girl Dolls and think they make great playmates and companions. Children learn best when they are having fun and playing!
Please have learner bring their doll to class. Dolls do NOT need to be American Girl Dolls. Any doll works!
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
