Class Experience

Welcome to American Girl Doll Christmas Party! This class is for all doll fans. Learners are welcome to bring other dolls to the party including Barbie, LOL, stuffies, Reborn, Glitter Girls, Our Generation, My Life, Disney and more!

This party will start with introductions of each learner and their doll or dolls. This is a great way for your learner to connect with new friends. Depending on how many friends we have at our party, this could take a few minutes. It’s an excellent time to practice public speaking and good listening skills.

After introductions, we will brainstorm different Christmas or winter decorations we can make for our dolls. For example, mini Christmas trees, a felt scarf, a paper wreath, a garland, stockings, a cardboard fireplace, a Santa hat, clay cookies and more. Brainstorming is a great way to get learners thinking and sharing.

Students are encouraged to use the materials they have on hand to make something new for their dolls. Learners tend to bring things like felt, crafting foam, cardboard, pipe cleaners, paper, markers, glue, ribbon, and clay. This is up to the individual. Just raid your crafting closet!

Please note, there will be no step by step guided crafting during this class. Instead, I encouraged students to think about what they want to play with and get crafty. I will show examples using google slides to get your learner thinking! Learners always come up with the best things and I never regret letting them be as creative as they wish. While learners are crafting I share some cool trivia and encourage conversation.

During the last 20 minutes of class, we will play Christmas Bingo with an American Girl Doll Twist. Please make sure you print out the bingo board prior to class. I will send it to each learner the day before. If you register on the day of, please message me to make sure you get your bingo board on time.

I am a fun and flexible teacher who encourages positivity in all her classes. I try to listen and engage all students so everyone feeling heard and supported. I use slides with fun, inviting graphics and other visuals to engage learners. Learners don't need any crafting or doll experience to participate.
