In this lesson we will read and watch a few video clips about Courtney Moore the first American Girl doll from the 80s. We will discuss what it was like in the 80s and use a PowerPoint and pictures of 80s and how things are changing. For example, Countrney's mom is running for mayor. Women in politics was not common in the 80s. We will look at things children did back then, such as arcade games. After this, learners will share their dolls and accessories. This will be a blast from the past....
Students will be able to recall what it was like in the 80s.
I have a master’s degree plus 30. I am certified in elementary education, early childhood education, special education, learning disabilities and Primary Montessori. I have the literacy endorsement and I have also been the Literacy Teacher of the Year and Teacher of the Year. I am trained in Project Read. I also grow up in the 80s.
