Students will learn about the life and musical career of Aaron Copland, one of America’s greatest classical music composers. Additionally, students will learn about the musical and stylistic characteristics of the specific works by Copland that exemplify a uniquely “American sound”.
No homework is assigned. I do provide a suggested playlist for each composer in case you are interested in listening to more of their music.
I will provide any materials needed for class (specifically the resource handouts that I post several hours before class starts).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
