Description
Class Experience
Learners will see art they may not have seen before, and interpret it in light of the time, place and people who made it. They will also create their own art or creative writing with new understandings and styles.
I am a middle school and adult education teacher. I have taught a variety of subjects, but this course is inspired by a college class that has stayed with me for many years, as well as some continuing art education as an adult. It's also inspired by my lifelong love of art, art galleries and museums, and what they have to say to us. Whenever I travel, I have to see at least one art museum. I am excited to share that, adapted for younger learners.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The summative activity will be drawing or writing based on the day's learnings.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
