Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 11
Beginner - Advanced Level
Is your teen hesitant to speak English because of pronunciation concerns?

In this ongoing American Accent Mastery Club, intermediate to upper-intermediate (B1-B2) teens will build confidence and clarity in their English pronunciation through engaging, culturally-relevant practice.

Unlike traditional pronunciation drills, we focus on the sounds and patterns that appear in the media teens already consume and enjoy.

WHAT WE'LL EXPLORE:
Each week focuses on a specific pronunciation challenge for non-native speakers. Our 12-week topic cycle includes:

Mar 31 - Week 1: TH sounds (voiced/unvoiced) with superhero movie clips
Apr 07 - Week 2: R vs L distinction using music lyrics and interviews
Apr 14 - Week 3: P/B/V distinctions with YouTube commentary examples
Apr 21 - Week 4: Short vs. long vowels in Netflix dialogue scenes
Apr 28 - Week 5: Nasal sounds (N/M/NG) in popular songs
May 05 - Week 6: Word stress patterns in YouTube influencer intros
May 12 - Week 7: Sentence rhythm with movie trailer narration
May 19 - Week 8: Schwa sounds in casual conversation clips
May 26 - Week 9: Reduced sounds in fast speech from sitcoms
Jun 02 - Week 10: American idioms pronunciation practice
Jun 09 - Week 11: Linking words in natural speech
Jun 16 - Week 12: Intonation patterns in questions vs. statements

The club cycles through these topics, so students can join at any time and continue as long as they wish to keep improving.
