Welcome! Students will learn about idioms, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
We will talk about the idioms in the story, making predictions, any vocabulary words, our favorite parts, etc.

Class Experience
(I am WA State Certified Teacher with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education.) In this class, learners can expect the following as how a typical class may flow: Greeting everyone and checking in about their day I'll read from Amelia Bedelia and ask questions during the story and/or afterwards I'll teach by asking questions out loud about some idoms such as "what did Mr. and Mrs. really mean by "change the towels?" or make up true or false questions, etc We will also take turns listening...
This class is taught in English.
Students will be able to learn about some idiom expressions where a phrase has more than 1 meaning. We will talk about the literal and actual meaning of the idiom. Students will also practice predicting what will happen next if I ask during certain parts of the story. Students will practice sharing and listening to others share answers.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I encourage students to have the Amelia Bedelia book if they want to follow along with their own copy either own even check out from the library if possible! Amazon has many of these books for around $5 or so.
