Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 4
Book clubs and chapter book studies are a great way to get your learner involved in reading comprehension and get excited about literacy. In this weekly, ongoing class, we will discuss the chapter book Amelia Bedelia story that is read (or listened to!) at home. We will take turns engaging in fun discussion about all the silly things Amelia Bedelia did in the story. We will discuss story elements such as characters, setting etc. We will also learn about the figurative language of idioms (literal and nonliteral meanings) used throughout the book. Students will be prompted to talk about their favorite parts of the story and many other conversation starters.

These Amelia Bedelia books are a fun, easy read for many 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders! My goal is to help your learner be captivated by reading and further deepen a love for learning and literacy! Each week will be a new book. Your student can jump in any time! Please make sure your child has read or listened to the Amelia Bedelia chapter book prior to class.
