Class Experience

Students will learn about Grace Lee Boggs and the activism she did in the 20th century, the connections she had to the Civil Rights Movement, and what her legacy and center are doing today.
I am a current AP Social Science Teacher at a Title I High school in the Bay Area in California. I was also a history major in college. My main historical periods of expertise are 20th century social justice movements and contemporary social justice movements.
No homework, but I can send additional resources about her if your student is interested.
Paper and pencil is optional as we will be using Nearpod for all writing.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No assessment since this is a one-time class.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
On Nearpod, we will look at various primary or secondary sources.
