Description

Class Experience

Students will learn about Dolores Huerta, her life, how she created the United Farm Workers Association with Cesar Chavez, and what she and the UFW is doing today.
I am a current AP Social Science Teacher at a Title I High school in the Bay Area in California. I was also a history major in college. My main historical periods of expertise are 20th century social justice movements and contemporary social justice movements.
No homework, but I can send additional resources about her and the UFW if your student is interested.
Paper and pencil is optional as we will be using Nearpod for all writing.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No assessment since this is a one-time class.
30 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
On Nearpod, we will look at various primary or secondary sources.
