Description
Class Experience
Welcome to Women in History! During each of these classes, we will explore a brief biography of different women in history, their life, the society and culture that shaped them, and what contributions they made in their field. We will discuss how their lives would be different if they had been born in different times and cultures and what shaped them into achieving their goals. Each week we will explore a different powerful woman from history. The first half of the class will be a power...
My goal with these classes is to have an inside look at what led to these individuals to becoming memorable names, and what we can learn from each of them.
I have been an educator on Outschool since February of 2018. I have my MBA and MHA, both of which have taught me the value of conducting research and asking questions. I have a passion for history and learning. You can usually find me in the middle of 2-3 books or watching a documentary.
Each week will include a list of 3-5 homework assignments (due in classes 2-8) that are designed to enhance the students understanding of the topics discussed. Students will choose the assignment that they are interested in to complete.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
There may be some Youtube videos that are seen during this class. I will share my screen and learners will not need to access them on their own.
Some of the sources used for this class are, but not limited to: Smithsonian Britannica National Geographic PBS Library of Congress
