In this one hour course, we will learn how to identify milkweed, the parts of the plant, and its life cycle through images and a drawing exercise. Despite being toxic to many animals, several insects have adapted to use different parts of this plant. We'll look at milkweed bugs, milkweed borer beetles, swamp milkweed beetles, weevils, aphids, tussock moths, and more. Milkweed has even been used for glue, stuffing, food, and fiber for rope!
